Set of four stained glass transom windows, each depicting a season of Flowers.
Spring: Snowdrops, Daffodils and Crocus.
Summer: Nasturtiums, Daisies and Antirrhinums
Autumn: Chrysanthemum, Coneflowers and Marigolds
Winter: Hellebore, Cyclamen and Winter Jasmin.
All four windows are leaded with hand painted squares depicting various seasonal flowers and obscure “Antique Reedy” glass. Super quality, in excellent condition and in original wooden frames. Sold as a set of four.
Frames Measure: 17″ x 38¾” – 43cm x 98cm w
The panels are c1935, therefore are not antique and are believed to be by the daughter of William Glasby (1863- 1941). Chief glass painter for Powell & Son, later working for Henry Holiday and Morris & Co. He started his own firm c1920 where his daughter Barbara Daisy Constance, 1886 – 1961, became assistant painter and eventually took control of the stained glass business.
